Thanks to our hard working knitters all 54 children at Little Pony creche were given beanies and jerseys in July. Bonnie made sure that each little head had the right size beanie.
Sophie Starchman of the Impumelelo Trust with Nomvuyo Mhlongo, the Area Co-ordinator for Mkhunya, and children at One-One feeding station in their new jerseys and beanies. Sophie visited Mkhunya in June 2010. The jerseys and beanies are donated annually by the many knitters who support us.
The Phakamani creche at Malangeni benefitted from educational toys and scooters from Basingstoke Rotary clubs. Mrs Gwala runs the creche and also provides a permanent home to severly disabled children. Also in the picture, Albert Luthuli, HBC manager for UVHAA.
Amandawe Community Care Centre renovated with assistance from Basingstoke and Scottburgh Rotary Clubs.

The Sizabantu support group at Mbiyane with their leader Thembi Mkhize and her husband Alpheus Shezi. Alpheus facilitates the mens group in the area as part of the Cultural health programme. Warm jerkins were supplied to 70 Community Care Workers through the Stephen Lewis Foundation "Caring for Care Workers" programme.

Staff with their new manuals on completing their First Aid and Home Based Care training as part of the "Caring for Caregivers" programme. Also in the picture is Sr. Ernestia Khanyile of UVHAA and Hendrik from Red Cross in Port Shepstone who conducted the training.
UVHAA staff have been able to assist this grandfather who looks after his two young grandchildren in this shack, after the death of their parents.

Basingstoke Rotary sponsored a new fridge and stove for the Soup Kitchen, plants for the Permaculture Garden, and a sewing machine.
Basingstoke Rotary paid for sewing lessons for the Amandawe Group. Gill Shaddick of Weaverbird in Australia also donated a new sewing machine, thread & material to the group and is selling the embroidery panels in Australia.
